We are running out of sunny days in Seattle so, we need to get in what we can while the weather is nice! We ventured over to Lincoln Park and since there we two of us we took Seven and D'light.
We went down to the shore and I was expecting sand! But, the majority of the shoreline is small to medium sized rocks. Not the easiest to walk on!
As you will see- Seven could care less about walking on the rocks. D'light on the other hand was initially not ok with the rocks. So, we spent a lot of our 3 hour walk mostly on the dirt path and then on sidewalks. We are always ready to make adjustments for our sweet D'light.
"This place is cool!"
Seven was interested in the waves rolling in so we had to check it out!
Seven taking in the environment - lots to watch and smell.
Here's comes the water Seven!
"Oh it's wet!"
Time to check out the driftwood
D'light wasn't so sure about this adventure. He hugged the driftwood staying close to dad. D'light did enjoy sniffing the seaweed that had washed ashore.
D'light decides to venture towards the water - this was his choice.
With a unsure/nervous/fearful dog you never want to force them to do something they are worried about! You can see in the picture he's not very comfortable with the water or rocks.
Because we let D'light move at his pace and have control in where he went, he opted to remain curious about the environment while wanting distance from the water.
Now he's much more relaxed - you can see this in his body language.
Seven has zero worries about the environment!
Seven tried out the long line but that was a bust so, we went back to our regular 6 foot nylon leash.
Lots to see!
Heading to a different section of the beach - D'light guiding the way.
Seven watching the kayakers
We give the rocky shore another try
Watching the seagulls
"Wait for me foster dad!"
Seven wanted to get to a dead fish!
Having a great time
The rocks don't slow Seven down!
Seven enjoying this adventure!
"There's clam shells down here!"
D'light loved walking on this barnacle ledge!
Getting a little windy!
Seven found this driftwood to pose on!
Looking good and having a great adventure!
The boys say "This is full of excellent smells!"
More to smell
Time for a break in the shade
No break needed when there are birds close by!
There's the funny tooth!
D'light says: "Why are we messing around down here when there are a ton of trees over there that are full of critters!!"
Time to head back
"But there's more to see"
On the move - the ferry to Vashon Island in the background
Seven had a great time and he did well given how busy the paths were with dogs and people.
One last look before getting into the car
