Wraps, Touches & Cones

Today starts Gramercy's medical appointments & surgery.  We have an appointment at the vet's office at 4pm where they will shave Gramercy's back left leg.  Then his pain patch will be applied, wrapped and we will be sent home for the night.  Gramercy and I will return to the vet's office on Thursday bright and early for his surgery.

So... what have we been doing to prepare for the surgery?  I've been wrapping Gramercy in a half wrap and doing some basic relaxing TTouch on his back, neck and ears.  Gramercy likes the wrapping & touch!  I'm planning on continuing the wrapping and TTouch's post surgery (assuming he's up for this plan).

Lookin good in pink!
Way to cute!

We've also been working on wearing the different cones.  To my delight - Gramercy is a rockstar with the cones!  So far he doesn't seem too bothered by them.  I've been doing lots of postive associations around the cone and using it in short stints.  My worry was that he was going to freak out wearing the cone but once again Gramercy has shown what a tolerant, go with the flow boy he can be! This is really good news since he will be coned for a couple of weeks.

This isn't so bad
Wondering if he can play with his favorite toy while coned!

Well this isn't so bad!
