Mission accomplished at All The Best!

Its raining in Seattle and it's been raining for pretty much a week straight - this is our normal weather but, it makes for challenges with new foster dogs.  For Reynvann the challenge has been that there's no one else out walking!  We've been on the look out for kids and people that he could say hello to.  As well as cats and friendly dogs.  All we've been able to fine are runners, bike riders (which didn't bother Reynvaan) and a very unfriendly dog that was off leash.  So, our mission was to go to our local All The Best (ATB) and see what we could find.  I'm happy to report that not only did we strike gold on this visit BUT Reynvaan was a total rock star.  Check out this amazing little rattie boy:

"What's this place?"

Lots of our foster parents love ATB - the store closest to me is a very small store but they are super friendly and have a soft spot for the ratties.  The store manager and another store employee have each adopted a rattie from New Rattitude.  Also we've done adoption events at 3 of their stores.  You can see why we like them as they are pro rescue and they carry awesome products.
Below are a lot of short video of Reynvaan's visit - he was a tiny bit nervous for the first couple of minutes but then decided this place was a fun place with lots of cool people!

Reynvaan checking out the toy bin

Reynvaan meeting Binky.  Binky can be a bit grumpy so this was a good meeting for Mr. young gun Reynvaan.  As you can see no problems.  At one point Reyvaan tried to get Binky to play with him and Binky let Reynvaan know that wasn't cool.  Reynvaan go that message loud and clear and let Binky have his space.

Reynvaan meeting one of the employees at ATB - As you can see Reynvaan likes men, look at that tail moving!

As we were wandering around in came a big baby stroller with a child in it!  I was sooo excited to see how Reynvaan would do.  You can see that he was a bit unsure but, wanted to check it out and then come check in with me.  Good boy Reynvaan!

This was less than 10 seconds after the above video.  Do you think Reynvaan likes kids?

Just cruising around and hey look - here comes a new person to say hello to. Amazing to me how well he's doing with all that's going on.  At this point we'd been at ATB for about 15 minutes.

Having a great time and hey, there's that kid again!

A kid, a dog, a moving stroller and Reynvaan is doing great - wishing for treat from the little girl!

What we really wanted to do was cat test Reynvaan.  There are many terrier who (my two rat terriers) have super high prey drives and cannot live with cats.  As you can see Reynvaan did great and had no interest in the cat.

Still no interest and I think he was more nervous at seeing the cat that going after the cat.  This is good news!

I asked if they would put the cat on the ground and I leashed Reynvaan "just in case".  You can see Reynvaan still wasn't into going after the cat.  I had to coax him to even get a little closer.  Once the cat turned to jump back in the cage, Reynvaan was curious but didn't go into full gear to get the cat.  My thought is that if Reynvaan did decide to bother a cat counter conditioning with him would be pretty easy - especially since he's food and attention motivated.

This nice lady  decided she needed to get close to Reynvaan and I thought "huh, wonder what he's gonna do about those yummy treacha's she's holding".  As you can see he was a perfect gentleman and really just wanted to give some kisses.  It's always great when someone knows (you can hear me telling her) that the dog I have is a foster. It helps remind people that foster dogs can be perfectly normal and in fact down right awesome!  Way to go Reynvaan, you were a super star.

Reynvaan exhausted after his big adventure!
