D'light goes critter hunting

With the anticipated noisy 4th of July weekend, we headed out of town - down to Oregon to stay with our in-laws. They live on 5 acres of fully fenced property, out where it's not very noisy.  A perfect get away for Catty and D'light who both despise the noise of fireworks.

We were at our in-laws last 4th of July and over this past year we've seen a bit difference in D'light.  He's making more independent decisions, generally more relaxed with people and the environment he's in.  In the past, D'light was scared of so much and being curious of his environment was always a bit dampened down.  This year we saw our sweet rattie boy who not only chose to explore his environment but, took full advantage of checking out everything in the outside environment.

I attribute a lot of his increased confidence due to our weekly Nose Work classes with Erica Wells, ongoing TTouch work with Lori Stevens, our continuous work with him around building his confidence and with him trusting that he's safe so he can chose to test and then stretch in his environment.

As you will see with the coming blog posts - D'light had the best 4th of July weekend ever and he really an amazing little fella that has made a lot of progress!

Taking in all the smells, sounds and sights

and off he goes to chase a critter!

"Are you in here?"

searching and doing what he loves!

As you can see in the video - he not worried about diving in the plants to see what he can find

Watching and waiting....

Pretty boy hanging out in the plants while scanning for critters

hunting in the bamboo!

He loves little birds, squirrels, chipmunks and any other small moving critters!

More hunting!  Seems D'light would stay outside for hours if he could.  As you can see his fully in hunting mode and this is great progress around D'light making his own choices.

Off to find more critters!
