It's HOT!

This weather is no fun.  We get so few "hot" days in Seattle that the majority of Seattleites (including us) don't have air conditioning.  So, that means suffering through until the heat wave is over.  It's been too hot since last Friday and it looks to be ongoing through the remaining week.  We have little relief to offer the dogs other than words of "it will be better soon".  Below you can see how they are dealing with the heat....

But wait. Yesterday I was reminded from K's adopter of pupsicles!  K's (now June) mom gave us a packet of the ice pups so I set out with making up a batch.

The Honest Kitchen is a great company with excellent food and treats. If you are looking to move away from kibble then The Honest Kitchen is a great upgrade and very simple to prepare.

Well this couldn't be easier!  Packet plus water then put in ice cube tray and freeze.

Here's what the pups thought of this cooling yummy treat...

Bésoleil says "what's this"
Tina loves these things!
And video - the girls quickly fall in love with the pupsicle but, D'light needs more time to "warm" up to the idea.  Bésoleil is more than happy to help D'light with his pupsicle.  Catty was busy working on eating dinner out of her kong so she missed out.  She''ll get her turn soon enough and I can guarantee you she will love the pupsicle.

Funny to watch how Bésoleil & Tina eat the pupsicle!

No doubt both girls would love to give a big THANK YOU to June's mom for this awesome cooling and very yummy treat.

  1. Julee, Great idea about Honest Kitchen. I would have completely forgotten.

I had a twist on the idea. I had my own pupcicles, I took Darwin's and used an icecube trey to make some. Corwin was a bit like D in your videos...a little unsure, but ever soo slowly licked his way through it.
