The new boys first couple of hours...

While having 4 dogs is a lot (we don't have a fenced back yard) we were pretty sure that the humans and Catty could handle two new boys - it was Dandy we were worried about.  Dandy's TTouch practitioner gave us some great advice which works extremely well for Dandy and for the new boys too.  The advice: wrap Dandy and then take them all to a quiet small dog park to romp around and give Dandy space to move away if needed.

I met our state coordinator at 7am Monday morning to pick up Owen and Dunham - since they didn't get in until after 11pm Sunday night.  Many thanks to her for overnight the boys. Once I had the boys home, I left them crated in the car and came in to "wrap" Dandy.  I've been "wrapping" him daily and that has been working well to sooth him and it clearly relaxes him.  Once he was wrapped - we left the wrap on for 10-15 minutes, did some TTouching and had him slowly moving in the wrap.  Then I found his leash and it was game on.  Dandy gets so excited when he sees a leash and that's the picture below - him saying "pleeease take me with you on an outing".

I drove with the boys and my husband drove behind me with Dandy to the small dog park on Mercer Island.  This isn't a busy park and at that time of morning we were pretty sure we'd be the only one group in the park.  Sure enough we were correct.  For the first 20 minutes it was just us which worked great and then for the last 20 minutes a 1yr old female Lhasa Apos named Peanut arrived at the park.  Everyone did really well and it was a lot of fun to watch all the pups running around having a good time.  There were lots of big dogs that walked by the park and both Owen and Dunham did great by not fence barking at them - in fact they didn't bark at all just more curious about those 4 legged dogs outside the fence.  Good job boys!

Once we were home we took all four dogs for a walk and that as usual worked out just fine for Catty and the new boys.  We would love to take Catty with us to the small dog park but, she gets really sick in the car so right not that's not an option.

Enough touching  - I'm ready to go!!
Looking fab in his pink wrap!

Gettting everyone moving including this old lady!

This is the first time we've taken Dandy to a dog park and he had a lot of fun.   Despite Owen's short legs he kept up pretty well with Dandy!

"Come on you young boys, catch me if you can"

All the boys and Peanut

Catty making sure that eveyone is in line!  Welcome to Seattle boys, we will no doubt find you amazing homes and a happy new life.
