Dandy kicking back at the park...

We met up with family at Borst park and Dandy did great!  I was a little worried that he might be overwhelmed with lots of people and commotion but, the park was quiet and Dandy had a relaxing time.  Again, one of our goals with Dandy is increasing positive experiences so that he can continue to relax and trust that he will be safe. That certainly happened on this adventure!

The park had a small dog off leash park.  There we no other dogs in the area but, that was fine as Dandy was able to see all was well.

He spent the 3+ hours just relaxing on the picnic bench while we chatted with family.  He's such a good boy!

There was a road not to far off from where we were sitting where he could watch people, cars and other dogs walk by. He did great and enjoyed the people watching.

He even decided it would be nice to sit on his foster g-ma's lap!  He took that risk and was rewarded with lots of petting, which he loved.  Way to go brave boy!

Calmly watching the activity around him.

Dandy grew up with kids, but kids make him very nervous.  Our nephew's did a really great job of being calm and gently petting Dandy.  Here Dandy is making eye contact, which is great - it's a skill we've been working on.

Ok enough eye contact but, you can still pet me just don't look at me.
