For those of you wondering, we are still working on a new name for Dandy...
Dandy has been staying away from Cayuse which I think is due Cayuse's puppy energy and the fact that Cayuse rarely sits still. After a couple of days Dandy has decided that at times, Cayuse can be a lot of fun! The first video you can tell Dandy is conflicted about playing with Cayuse. By the 2nd video it's game on. When Dandy is in the mood, he and Cayuse have a great time playing!
One of Boo's moms is taking a class about "Leadership in the digital age in non-profit & for profit organizations". She's working on her final project and she asked if I would be ok with being interviewed as a represenative of New Rattitude. I said absolutely since I would get to see Boo and talk about New Rattitude! It was fantastic seeing Boo and his moms and the interview went great as well. We have such amazing adopters, so many of them have lots of passion around wanting to spread the NR word.
Boo continues to be a totally awesome boy who has great dogs skills and now knows tons of tricks that his mom's have taught him. This is one lucky, lucky Boo boy!
This was when Boo was in foster care with us - he was a delight to foster and we are so happy that he now has an amazing life full of love and adventure!

Boo was so good with Cayuse and Buty and major props to him for allowing us to roll on into his home! This was really great for both Cayuse and Buty to meet new people and a new dog. Cayuse being a puppy pushed the limits with Boo and Boo appropriately let Cayuse know what was and wasn't ok. I'm guessing that Boo appreciated our visit. However, I'm guessing he was happy to have us leave so that he could get back to his bed in front of the fireplace and nap in peace!
Buty certainly is a love bug & her favorite activity is sitting in your lap and if you are ok with it, she will give you lots of kisses in appreciation. She's a very sweet, gentle girl & seems to really like men! She cannot get enough of my husband & wants his attention all the time. With her good looks he can't tell her no! Buty has a cold, she's on the thin side, she looks like she's had puppies recently & I'm guessing she spent a lot of time outdoors prior to coming into New Rattitude. This girl needs some TLC & we are happy to give it to her. I have no doubt that once she feels comfortable she is going to blossom into an even more amazing little gal!
Cayuse is a very busy boy! This sweetie is full of terrier personality and clearly loves just being alive. Getting him to sit still for pictures is pretty impossible at this point but, thank goodness for video! Buty has a cold but, even with her cold, I'm guessing she's more laid back than Cayuse.

These two pups are amazing and we are so excited that we are fostering both of them. Cayuse is a very busy puppy and a super happy go lucky boy. He's a tiny little guy at 5lbs and he has short legs - he can barely make it up the stairs. He may be tiny but, he is FULL of personality. You can't help but giggle when you are in the room with him!
Buty (pronounced Beauty) is a very sweet shying and her name fits her well! If you move slow and let her come to you she will happily give tons of kisses and sit with on your lap for hours. Buty has a cold but, we'll get her over that in no time flat.
I had trouble getting pictures as Cayuse is constantly on the move and Buty is not fond of the camera. So here's the best of today!

This little boy in on transport as you read this! Say hello to Cayuse and we are guessing he's gonna be loads of puppy fun! Like a lot of our rescued ratties, Cayuse was in a overflowing shelter and his time was out. Despite being adorable and a puppy of 3-4 months, he just wasn't moving due to so many small cute dogs. It's very sad but, I'm thrilled that we rescued this boy and I have no doubt he will be adopted pretty quickly. He's said to be good with all sizes of dogs and kids!

We needed to pull Buty quickly since her time was up and here's her the shelter picture that we recived last night. She went directly from the shelter to the transport. I'm guesssing she's going to be happy once she arrives in WA. Buty is roughly a year old and is said to be a real sweet gal. Continuing on our WA wine theme she was named after Buty Winery http://www.butywinery.com/
Cayuse & Buty will arrive late tonight, then overnight with our state coordinator. I'll be picking them up on Saturday so stay tuned for all the fun of these two rescued ratties!
We were not looking for a 2nd dog but, we've been going back forth over the last couple of months questioning if we should adopt Dandy. As many people know, he was abused psychologically and physically the first 3 yrs of his life and will likely always have deficits due to the abuse. We've had many concerns mainly -- are we a good enough home for him and if we adopt him can we keep fostering. He's now experienced 7 foster dogs and with each dog he's doing better in term of working through his anxiety. We work hard to manage his anxiety and have been pretty successful in keeping him from melting down. Then the question of are we good enough and we've come to the conclusion of yes. Dandy requires a lot in terms of commitment and resources so that he can continue his rehabilitation. He's come a long ways with us and we feel we can dedicate the time, resources and love that can him to continue moving forward. And given how much we love this tender boy I don't know that we could have parted with him! So, here's to you sweet boy, you have found your forever home. We look forward to our ongoing journey, all of us together and loving this boy forever.

This picture was back in May a day or two after Dandy came back to us. We've now fostered 18 rattie's and Dandy is the only dog that Catty allows to sit so close to her. No question Catty is happy Dandy is part of the family as she really missed him when he wasn't here.
