Puppy girl wants to play - part 2

These videos were taken at day 3 of Ursa being in our care.  As I've said she's a smart girl & she's figured out if she slows down her play, doesn't viper attack Dandy he will play with her & even play chase.  This is really good for both Ursa and Dandy!

Now Dandy is extremely awkward in his play & he can get excited/anxious very quickly.  So again our job is to help both dogs with their thresholds. As you can see there's lots of genital checking in & shake offs - each trying to read the other.

 

The play is amping up & the toy is used a distraction to relive pressure in the play.  Dandy gently grabbing Ursa's neck is probably a combo of him trying to slow her down, over excitement on his part, him being older trying to assert himself & then Dandy just not knowing what else to do.  Dandy didn't have dogs to play with growing up so he's a mixed bag of confusion when it comes to play.

 

This is still all in the same 20 minutes -- Catty was watching Dandy & Ursa, then when Dandy went to get a "baby" Catty decided to join in.   Ursa trying to appropriately coax Catty into play & Catty semi takes her up on the offer.  Catty has the very bad habit of taking socks &  trying to get another dog to play tug with them which is cute until there are multiple holes in the socks...  This was the first time Catty was willing to engage with Ursa & you can see Ursa trying to figure out what to do.   And of course the ending is also typical Catty - "If you don't do what I want you to do then I'll bark at you till you figure out what I want!".
