Throw back series - Part 1 - Valley Creek Estuary Park

Continuing on our Olympic Peninsula adventures, I went back to find pictures from a trip that we took to Port Angeles back in May.  Port Angeles is about 20 minutes west of Sequim.  So, here's another throwback series and it's fun to see Viva again!  She's doing amazing in home and if you missed seeing her on my blog, here's you Viva fix.

After a long car ride from Seattle it was time to get and explore Port Angeles.

First stop was Valley Creek Estuary Park.

Up we go to get a better view

Viva having a blast.  She was always up for an outdoor adventure.

Time to see more

Up he goes to get a better view!

Lots of pretty and informative art at this park

Seaweed with lots of smells

There's a nice pathway from the park to downtown Port Angeles.

Along the path are a bunch of these information markers. Here are just a few.

Stay tuned to see more of our Port Angeles adventure.

Road trip to the Olympic Peninsula - Part 5

In case you missed them, here are the previous posts in this series:

With the sun setting we headed over to Port Williams Park.  Nothing like walking on a beach with a beautiful sunset!

Some great seaweed along the beach

And you quicky gasp from the beauty of the landscape!

A beautiful blue and pink sky and more fun seaweed.

Here come the colors!

Again we had the place to ourselves!

A wonderful way to end a great trip!  Back home we went & there's no doubt that we will be back in Sequim soon.

Road trip to the Olympic Peninsula - Part 4

Nearshore and Estuarine Restoration Project stunk but, it's beautiful.  The stink was from the decaying seaweed and probably lots of bird poop.  You do get use to the smell but, it takes a few minutes!

"I love the smells!"

The sky was just amazing

Neat to watch so many birds

A huge pile of stinky seaweed and D'light isn't so sure about it.

He moves on...

"Oh crap!"

"I'm good!"

Stinky feet

On the move and all was just fine with D'light

We all preferred the sand to the stinky shore line

Brett took this photo and I just love it.  D'light confident in the environment and running his nose down the log catching lots of scent.

Lots of cool logs and stumps

Shells all over the place

We were the only people at Northshore and it was so peaceful

"D'light making sure there are not critters around"

Brett with his camera

He got some great shots of a large ship passing behind the new dungeness lighthouse

The clouds were on the move and it was amazing to watch the color changes.

D'light enjoying himself

Silly, silly. boy!

Time to head out as we have one more stop before we head home.

A few more shots as we leave.
