Throw back series - Part 6 - Shine Tidelands

In case you missed them, here are the previous posts in this series:

Before heading home, we stopped off to enjoy Shine Tidelands State Park. Lucky us, we had the whole park to ourselves!

The park is west of  the Hood Canal Bridge

Off we go!

We all enjoyed taking in all that had washed up on the beach.

Lots of drift wood

Critters around?!

Lots to smell!

More to smell and see

Time to start heading back to the car

Of course, one more critter check before the ride home.

This was the final post of this series and it was a fun trip for all of us!

Throw back series - Part 5 - Strait of Juan De Fuca

In case you missed them, here are the previous posts in this series:

Throughout our trip also explored the shore line of the Straight of Juan De Fuca.  The dogs did get potty breaks but, we had them stay in the car to rest since some of the shoreline parks in the area do not allow dogs.  Both D'light and Viva travel well and have no problem staying in the car.

Here's some of the beauty we experienced.

Banana slug!

We saw a number of bald eagles

Lots of gulls

A few Great Herons

We had fun watching this gull.  The gull was dive bombing into the water over and over...

We see what it's after...

More bombing and targeting...

Almost has it...

Caught the crab!

Over the to shore they go

Time to eat!

We head over to see the mouth of the Elwha River flowing into the Strait of Juan De Fuca.  The Olympics are in the in the background.

Time to get going and we have a stop where both dogs get out and about!
