In addition to running around in a big house, the dogs also were lucky enough to explore the 10 acres that my in-laws live on. The property is fully fenced but, it's deer fence & Tina and Bésoleil could easily fit through the fence. So... the two foster gals were on leashes (much to Bésoleil dismay!). I'm not a fan of retractable leashes but, in this environment they worked great.
Here's the first time out in the back couple of acres - D'light loves to explore the property and he loves flushing out birds.
And off we go down the hill....
And then we go up hill... I was tired after doing this multiple time - the dogs on the other hand loved it! Bésoleil flushed out a pair of quail and she desperately wanted to chase the bunnies. Both girls would be great hiking partners and can clearly keep going much longer than I can.
Below is Miss Catty relaxing in the sun - she's 8-9 yrs old and she surprised us all when she caught a chipmunk. It was a quick kill and lucky for me my father in law was close at hand to fish it out of her mouth before she swallowed the little guy whole. Catty's tummy was a little upset from the car ride and we didn't need a meal of chipmunk adding more to her tummy!
Sweet Catty girl
Waiting and watching for a chipmunk or bunny that she can catch!
D'light watching the birds
D'light looking good!
He hears a small bird in the bushes
And then a frog in the pond making noise
Showing of how relaxed he was with that right ear fully folded forward
Back to bird hunting
So a huge thanks to my amazing in-laws for happily opening up their home to 4 rattie's! We had a great visit and the dogs loved thier quiet 4th of July long weekend.
