While Catty interacts with the foster dogs she has always treated Dandy different. When he first came to us last year she was accepting of him within a couple days and the longer he was with us the more she wanted to be around him. Dandy was in foster care with us for roughly 4 months and when he was adopted she was pretty depressed. It took Catty some time to get over Dandy and we were curious to see how she would act when he came back to us last week. As soon as Dandy came in the house Catty started bouncing around, jumping at Dandy then dropping on the ground rolling on her back for him. This went on for a good 3-4 minutes all of us (including Dandy) were shocked as we have never seen this behavior from Catty. After a couple of hours she was trying to get him to play tug with her and Dandy finally agreed to play which was good for both of them.
That night Catty got up on the couch to lay next to Dandy with her head on his rear. This was shocking to us as Catty is a
DINOS (dog in need of space) with the foster dog's and she doesn't like them to get close to her on the couch and she lets everyone know this pretty quickly.
Catty will actively seek out Dandy to be close to him & she lets him touch paws with her.
Sweet Dandy puts up with Catty but, he doesn't have the same star struck love that Catty has for him! It's interesting to ponder why some dogs are so drawn to another. For Catty with Dandy who knows but, it's good for both dogs and we are often laughing watching Catty wanting to love up on Dandy
