Syzygy meets the Tornado

Time to blow this sweet puppy's mind!  I introduced him the the Tornado by Nina Ottosson and he did great. Below is his first try at this interactive feeder.  I like using this as a beginner feeder because, it's easy for the dog to spin and the cups that hold the food are big.   It does come with stoppers that make it more challenging but, we are not there yet.

"What is this thing?"

"Hey I found some food"

"Holy smokes look there's more food!"

"This is fun!"

This is a great video - you can see he's a bit nervous at first then he really gets into the game of finding the food.  He's a super smart boy!

"Does food coming out of this thing you keep pointing at me?!?"

Play, play, play!! Part 2 of 2

The next session of play was a ton of fun!  Bring on the game of bitey face...

Below are lots of action shots.  They are all hilarious so, of course they must be posted!

Gramercy says: "Foster mom why did you stop the fun?!"

Play, play, play!! Part 1 of 2

Amazing what fixing some nerves can do for someone... just ask Gramercy!  When he arrived to our home back in late December he came up with our other foster dog, Reynvaan.  They did a lot of playing together. However, I noticed that Gramercy would never roll on his back, and he just looked tense.  I chalked this up to just not having much play experience.

I'm now thinking it was a pain issue.  Again I continue to be shocked by how much Gramercy did while being in so much pain. He's a tough little dude!

Below you can see how great both boys are feeling and yet again foster mom is a stick in the mud by managing the amount of play.

warming up for play time

I love the below video! Here's two throw away rattie boys who have a new lease on life thanks to New Ratittude.  The only thing they now have to worry about is finding wonderful homes.  And I think our team pretty much has that covered!  So, Gramercy and Syzygy have no worries!

Fun loving boys

Gramercy & Syzygy having fun in the sun!

It was sunny in Seattle this morning so, that brought on sunbathing and play time!  Both boys wanted to keep playing.  But, given Gramercy's spine is still healing and Syzygy was recently neutered, the play time was pretty short lived.  Both boys though foster mom was no fun.

Gramercy laying out is the sun

 Let's play!

Both boys like to play!

Stay tuned for tomorrow's post to see how well these boy's play together

Guess were Syzygy was on Monday...

At  the vet getting neutered, tested for heart worms, microchiped and his nails trimmed! Big day for sweet puppy boy.  Everything went well and Syzygy was pretty happy to leave the vet.  Once we got home, Syzygy wanted to lick his incision so that meant wearing the "no licking" gear.

He's still adorable even in the donut!

Here he is in the kitchen after eating his breakfast and taking a pain pill.

You can see the pain medication starting to work.  After some chewing on his bone he was out like a light!

Sweet little boy - all of this will soon be a distant memory.

"Where did they go?"

A bone makes everything better!

Buster Dog Maze you are no match for Gramercy

Look a new feeder!

This one is the Buster Dog Maze and I figured I'd let Gramercy give it a go.

The trick is to move the kibble through the maze towards the two ends where the kibble will spill out

Above you can see the maze is pretty deep so, a short snouted dog will have to be really creative to move the food.

As you can see below, Gramercy is super smart! He figured out pretty quickly that by flicking the kibble with his tongue, it would move through the maze.

While this is a pretty good feeder, it's not for a beginner dog. I personally like the Green feeder better becasue there are more options regarding the difficulty level for the dog.

Gramercy says "all done!"

Syzygy certainly is a terrier!

Syzygy was just beside himself when he found the all the toys.  He quickly picked his top favorites at that moment in time.  As the day went on decided that he pretty much liked any toy!

Getting ready to play...

Game on!

He's a funny little boy!

"I have you green monster"

As you can see he's your typical terrier!

taking a quick break but still has the monster in his mouth

This toy just blew his mind...  As you can see Syzygy is a total puppy with puppy energy and ready to play, play, play!
